Toronto Aikido-Different Techniques of Toronto Aikido

In the Toronto Aikido 1st technique Nage should place one hand on Ukes elbow and other hand on his wrist and use this position to bring Uke to the ground.  The 2nd technique is a wristlock that applies force on nerves and torque on the weapons. The Toronto Aikido 3rd technique is the rotational wristlock concentrating on the shoulder, elbow and the arm. The 4th technique is identical to the first one with a small variation. The Toronto Aikido 5th technique is also alike to the 1st one but it is trained with a reversed grip of wrist.  The 6th technique is the four direction throw where the hand is folded behind the shoulder therefore make a shoulder joint lock.

During the training, Uke needs to protect and neutralize the assault from Nage using the Toronto Aikido techniques. The main idea here is self defense thus Uke always has to be watchful and protect himself from the attacks made by the Nage who tries to keep Uke in a helpless state by trying to keep him off balance.

In Toronto Aikido, some of the techniques but not essentially in the order provided above. There are a lesser amount of 20 basic Toronto Aikido techniques but there may be a mixture of implementation which may result in 1000’s of styles.
